Sewing
Machine Buying Guide - Janome
Company Profile
Formally known as 'New
Home', Janome Sewing Machines of Japan are the
new brand to have. Janome UK was established in
1969 as New Home Sewing Machine Co Ltd and
changed its name to Janome in the mid
1990's.
The word Janome means "eye
of the snake" in Japanese. At that time, the
round bobbin system was the most advanced
technology replacing the traditional long
shuttle type in sewing machines. As the new
round bobbin looks like a snakes eye, the name
was chosen.
Janome produce machines in
there own factories based in Japan, Taiwan and
Thailand, where some suppliers farm out to
other companies to produce machines. They are
all quality controlled so each machine is
guaranteed to be working at it's full potential
on arrival. Janome exports to over 100
countries worldwide and are now the no.1 sewing
machine manufacturer in the world.
Janome Models
Janome have sewing machines
at all price points, but the quality does not
alter. They range from the more basic models
for beginners, right to the expert with
machines offering advanced features. All models
are packed with all the quality, reliability,
and stitch precision you expect from a Janome,
and are perfect for home dec, garments, crafts
and more.
A couple of really nice
machines in particular are the new Simplicity
model and the 3816 which are both fairly basic
models but still loaded with features at a
fantastic price.
To sum up, Janome's smart
accessible machines can deliver the gorgeous,
professional results you expect. So why not
give them a try?
Janome Stockists
Janome would always
recommend that you purchase your sewing machine
from your local Janome stockist and provide a
